A Health Care Assistant is required to fit in with our friendly, caring and professional team. Must be able to do full personal care, use manual hoists. Training and refresher training will be provided. Uniform will be provided.
We are looking for cheerful staff that will promote the residents well-being and that of their colleagues.
You must be able to support residents with onset/undiagnosed Dementia, disabilities, sensory impairments and also those with full mental capacity.
Your written and spoken English must be good. Polish speaking would be an advantage, to assist one of our residents. Care Home experience is desirable, but compassion and satisfaction in helping care for others is essential.
You will report to the Senior on Duty.
- **Days shifts run**: 08:00 - 20:00hrs or 12:00 - 18:00
- **Night shifts**: 20:00 - 08:00hrs

**Responsibilities**
- Assist residents with personal care activities, to wash, dress and meet continence needs on an individualised basis, ensuring the safety of all residents.
- To support residents with meals and drinks.
- To assist residents with mobility needs, to mobilise in bed or around the home.
- To promote residents’ independence.
- To support with the administration of medication when competent and trained to do so.
- Light cleaning of residents’ rooms and communal areas when necessary, laundering of residents’ clothes and linens, changing beds, and emptying commodes as required.
- To engage with residents and provide mental stimulation through activities, chatting and social interaction. To enrich their mental well-being.
- Answer call bells promptly and greet visitors politely.
- Must be competent administering medication (Training Provided)
- To provide dignity, respect, privacy, care and support at the end of individuals’ lives.
- Monitor, communicate and record changes or deterioration in health and wellbeing.
- Report issues to the Senior on duty or Head of Care promptly.
- To record daily tasks and care provision accurately in a timely manner, using the digital handset and software (Training provided).
- To complete paperwork and records as reasonably required.
- To complete mandatory training and refreshers within a reasonable time frame and to take part in training exercises as organised by the home.
- To comply with the home’s policies and procedures at all times.
- At night, light cleaning of communal and kitchen areas (and areas that would be otherwise occupied throughout the day) laundering of residents’ clothes and linens, changing beds, and emptying commodes as required.
- Perform hourly checks - using handset to scan QR codes in residents rooms (Night shift)
- To engage with residents and provide mental stimulation through activities, chatting and social interaction.
- Answer bell calls promptly and answer the telephone.
- To provide dignity, respect, care, and support at the end of individuals’ lives.
- Other duties as reasonably requested.
