Milestone Infrastructure is currently looking to recruit Apprentice Highways Maintenance Operatives to work on our Hampshire Highways Contract contract in Petersfield.

As an Apprentice Highways Maintenance Operatives you will be part of our Depot Operations team who are responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across Hampshire's road network.

**What will the apprentice be doing?**
- Highways Maintenance (e.g. pothole repairs, grass cutting, winter gritting services)
- Providing traffic management for a diversity of projects.
- Working as part of our multi-disciplined teams to deliver innovative solutions to highways maintenance.

**What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?**

At the end of your apprenticeship, you will be awarded a Level 2 Highways Maintenance Skilled Operative Apprenticeship. Depending on your location you will be required to travel to college on block release with fellow apprentices and stay in a hotel for your relaxation time.

**What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?**

As a Milestone Apprentice, you will be recruited on a permanent contract and after completing your apprenticeship you will be promoted into the business. You will also have further development opportunity through professional qualification or training courses.

Communication skills, IT skills, Number skills, Team working, Physical fitness.

**Qualifications**:
GCSE or equivalent English & Maths (Grade Grades A* to C or 9 to 4) Essential

**Things to consider**

You will learn all of the skills necessary for this Highway Maintenance apprenticeship, through a combination of formal training and practical experience. You will work in a team alongside our highly experienced colleagues, and you will benefit from their knowledge and their support on a daily basis.

Milestone Infrastructure works closely with our client, Hampshire County Council, to maintain over 8,529km of carriageway, 6,115km of footways and 1,800 structures. This requires us to deliver a range of services from responding to emergencies on the network, repairing damaged road surfaces & filling potholes, cleaning drainage, cutting back vegetation, broken manholes or gullies, kerbs or paving slabs right through to major resurfacing programmes. We also deliver the Winter Maintenance service running a fleet of gritters to ensure Hampshire's roads are kept running and kept safe.
