Our client are a UK leading expert in consumer finance with over 45 years in the industry they work with some of the UK's leading brands. They are now recruiting for a Assistant Finance Controller to manage the production of the accounts for the differentlegal entities located in the UK in line with the group policies and regulatory obligations and according to the quality and timescales required. Ensuring that all key financial risks are adequately covered within Controllership team.
Key Responsibilities
Recruit, lead, develop and motivate a team of managers and people in order to ensure that demanding performance targets are achieved.
Responsible for the production of UK statutory and management accounts for all UK entities in accordance with Group and regulatory requirements within the timescales given.
Responsible for the submission of monthly and quarterly financial information required by group for consolidation.
Take responsibility for liaison with corporate accounting team, external advisors and auditors.
Responsible for the maintenance, integrity and authorisation of new accounting codes, charts and schemes.
Be finance lead for all financial system interfaces into Coda and controls around the inputs. Liaise and work with senior systems analyst ensuring all finance systems are properly maintained.
Perform random checks on a regular basis in order to have a good risk assessment of the performance and the quality of works done by the finance functions above.
Implement the right level of communication with the other finance functions in order to be the most responsive and efficient.
Build strong relationships with the other departments to ensure that the finance functions provide the right level of information and support to the business.

To ensure that compliance required by the financial business activities is in place and monitor on a regular basis within the finance functions.
Ensure compliance with HMRC tax requirements, submit returns, and reconcile tax accounts. Liaise with the client and external tax specialists as required.
Responsible for all assigned balance sheet reconciliations (including sensitive accounts) ensuring that they are performed as per the local and the client's policy requirements. Full responsibility is to be taken to ensure compliance with the Sensitive Accountpolicy.
