**About the role**:
In this key role, you will join one of the largest cardiac surgery research groups in the UK. We undertake high quality translational research into diseases affecting the thoracic aorta, blood management, and the prevention of peri
- and post-operative organ injury. You will work both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team providing expertise to this research programme, as well as wider collaborations including the NIHR Leicester BRC._ _
**About you**:
You should have evidence of previous contributions to peer-reviewed journal papers and a proven analytical problem-solving capability.
Experience with mammalian expression systems (lentivirus, transfection), molecular cloning, animal models and familiarity with R and Python would be beneficial.
