Trainee Medical Underwriter

The Medical Underwriting team provide support across the Global Individual Health business with the objective of controlling the level of risk that is accepted on cover.
We are based across 2 sites in Glasgow and Dubai and work closely on providing the best outcomes for our customers and business partners, while maintaining consistency in our decisions.
**Critical Tasks and Expected Contributions / Results**:
Supporting renewal cases, cost containment and non-disclosure analysis;
Answering business queries relating to underwriting risk;
Working with the team to achieve profitable business outcomes;
Interpretation of data reports relating to key metrics and trends;
Communicating information to underwriting manager.
**Personal Competencies Required**:
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively;
Ability to make quick yet informed and commercially sensible decisions;
Analytically minded with the ability to investigate and solve problems that arise;
High degree of professional integrity.
**Education and Other Requirements**:
Previous experience working within the health insurance industry;
Proficient in Excel and Microsoft skills;
Excellent English verbal and written skills;
Medical background preferable but not essential.
