South Gloucestershire is a high-profile growth location in the South West and due to this we are looking for an Landscape architect to work in our dynamic and busy Place Improvements Team offering the opportunity to gain broad and valuable experience in thepublic sector.
Working as part of our small landscape team you will be responsible for the delivery of landscape design for a wide range of place making projects including design of new public open spaces, high street green infrastructure enhancement schemes, design of newplay areas, access improvements and public open space landscape design. You will make a difference by ensuring the efficient and sustainable management of open spaces either through direct or partnership delivery. **What you will be doing?**:

- You will provide landscape design services for the Place Improvements Team, other Council departments (regeneration and highways) and external clients including the preparation of contract documentation for landscape and construction contracts, briefs forconsultancy services, project management, tendering and contract administration.
- You will plan and organise projects and cases to achieve defined policy/technical outcomes in accordance with agreed standards and timescales. Develop practical approaches to resolve issues plan their implementation and manage their delivery
- You will determine the data/information required to assess and resolve given problems; undertake analysis and derive conclusions to inform solutions as a basis for setting out options and making recommendations.

**What we need from you**:

- You will have the relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Landscape Architecture and membership of the Landscape Institute.
- You will require considerable post-qualification experience of designing, developing and delivering complex landscape and environmental projects, including budgetary and contract management.
- You will have project management skills and proven track record in the delivery of projects within set timescales and to budget.
- You will be able to communicate effectively and build working relationships with differing stakeholders including architects, design consultants, contractors covering a variety of design/construction disciplines, volunteers, a wide range of community groups,staff and external companies and organisations.
- You will have experience of financial reporting, maintaining records and budgets and providing reports.
