**Mental Health Support Assistant - Chippenham - ASAP start**

Are you a psychology graduate looking for a role working with vulnerable children with special education needs?

Are you looking to gain first-hand experience working with children with behavioural needs?

A special education school in Chippenham is looking for a mental health support assistant.

The students are aged 5-16 and all have mental health difficulties such as trauma, anxiety, depression and many others. Additionally many of the students have a wide range of special educational needs co-existing, such as Autism, communicative issues, behaviouralneeds and ADHD. Your role will include providing support in the classroom whilst also providing a safe environment for students. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher and may be asked to provide 1:1 support to various learners. You will alsohelp with various activities such as sensory time, life skills and PE.

As the school works primarily with children with mental health needs, relevant experience working with children is desirable. This relevant previous experience could include childcare, tutoring, helping within a nursery, in a sport setting, charity or ina similar classroom setting.

Most important to the school is your passion for helping young people with mental health as the children are in the heart of everything they do
