STEP is an ambitious programme to accelerate the delivery of sustainable Fusion Energy. The programme aims to deliver an integrated concept design for a fusion powerplant based on the Spherical Tokamak. It will develop and identify solutions to the challengesof delivering fusion energy, benefiting from Culham’ s breadth of expertise and its suite of research facilities. The STEP programme adopts a collaborative and innovative approach that combines the strengths of UKAEA with industry, universities, and otherorganisations. The ambition of STEP extends beyond the technical challenges, also breaking new ground in the commercialisation of fusion in areas such as siting, regulation, cost model, supply chain development and commercial funding.

**Who are we looking for?**
As a Technical lead you will be responsible for the technical implementation of the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, a platform that facilitates and tracks product development from concept through production. You will also make sure that the STEPPLM System meets the needs of and maximise value to the STEP Product Delivery organisation and its users.
You'll need to bring a proven track record of delivering complex and high-technology projects of good quality.
Key Responsibilities:

- Ensuring that the needs and priorities of the PLM users are accurately represented
- Making sure the technical implementation of PLM System is conducted robustly
- That the PLM Information Backbone is well integrated with other information systems that manage product information
- Managing and prioritising the Product Backlog so ensuring maximum return on investment
- Liaising with the Vendor Technical Lead to ensure clear communication of direction and priorities
- Working with the Vendor Technical Lead to plan and allocate Sprints
**Qualifications**
**Essential Criteria and Qualifications**:

- Proven experience of PLM system installation, operation and maintenance
- A strong track record of delivering complex, high technology projects to quality, time and budget
- Understanding and experience of cultural change activities
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline
**Desirable Criteria and Experience**:

- Significant experience working with complex industrial or manufacturing facilities and plant
- Knowledge of tokamak design activities
- Experience of performing advanced analysis using expertise in a related discipline
- Membership of a relevant Professional Institute
- Either Chartered Engineer or domain equivalent
