We wish to appoint an ambitious clinical academic in training to fill this new prestigious endowed Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders. The appointee will join a strongly collaborative, inter-disciplinary team, in developing an internationally leading programme of translational research in Young People’s Eating Disorders. Our ambition is for this Fellowship to propel the appointee into an effective trajectory towards clinical research leadership in this field.

The post will be 50% as a Researcher in Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health, Division of Psychology and Mental Health at University of Manchester and 50% as a Postgraduate Doctor in Training working at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). You will hold separate contracts of employment with each institution.

In this role you will be required to develop and carry out a programme of research in eating disorders in children and young people aligned to aims of the department under the leadership of Dr Rachel Elvins and Professor Green. Clinical work will be within the inpatient unit and community eating disorder team. It is intended to provide clinical duties for a junior doctor with previous experience of developmental psychiatry at core training level (ideally specialist community or inpatient CAMHs). It is expected that applicants will have MRCPsych or be working towards this and is aimed at those doctors at ST3 level or above. The postholder will also participate in the on call CAMHs Manchester wide rota at middle grade level.
