Principal Clinical Neuropsychologist

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated psychologist with significant/extensive experience in leading Stroke services in particular inpatient services. The clinical Neuropsychologist is an important part of the MDT and will be expected to meet with patients and families and carers to assess, formulate and provide the delivery of care. Additionally, the role requires leadership of a small psychology team, consultation and liaison with the MDT, statutory, voluntary and private sectors.
The psychology service offers a range of therapeutic interventions for patients including Narrative therapy-Tree of Life, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and family work. This is a comprehensive post and mental health, physical health and family work is covered within the role.
Provide a high quality specialist Clinical Neuropsychology service to the inpatient Stroke Unit in Croydon University Hospital and provide an outreach service into the community based services for Stroke patients in liaison with the existing Community Clinical Neuropsychology Service.
Provide highly specialist neuropsychological assessment and evidence based therapy, offer advice and consultation on psychological aspects of stroke to other health professionals and support clinical team members who provide psychosocial care
Supervise and support neuropsychological assessment and therapy provided by other psychologists, including recently qualified Psychologists, trainees and assistant psychologists as needed.
Work with members of the stroke team, other healthcare professionals, GPs, Mental Health Services, voluntary sector services and other disciplines and agencies as required.
Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for psychological practise within a current caseload.
