Restored to its former glory, The George Hotel has proudly sat on Colchester High Street in Essex, close to the City’s Castle, for over 500 years. It has always been at the center of bustling life in England’s oldest recorded town and with historical artefacts, medieval cellars dated back to AD60, period features and beautiful beams; it really is one of a kind and a place to remember Guests are welcomed to a lavish stay in our beloved hotel full of charm and history, invited to sleep in one of the 49 heritage rooms or suites with emperor beds or the 44 modern rooms of St Nicholas’ House. All rooms are full of designer touchers and period features you would expect form a hotel of this age.

Guests can enjoy cocktails, local draught lagers and ales and an extensive wine list from the contemporary bar. Dine in the relaxed two-tiered restaurant that offers a daily a la carte menu inspired by British and worldwide cuisines, using locally sourced and seasonal produce. Lighter lunches can be taken on the Moroccan style Courtyard area, or quintessential English Afternoon Tea in the Victorian Themed ‘T-at The George’ Tea room

To be a successful **F&B team leader** you will need;
- Proven experience as part of a Food & Beverage Team, a leadership role is advantageous
- Thirst to drive and improve standards across all areas of our food and beverage areas, with an eye for detail
- delivering best in class experiences with personality and warmth
- Ability to lead, inspire, train a team, helping maintain high standards whilst being fair and consistent

**In return we ask for**:

- Lead service from the front - taking guests orders, serving food and drinks, taking payments and giving great service to customers
- Meet all site standards of service & lead the team to do the same leading to a great guest experience.
- Have a good understanding serving coffees, alcohol and wine to both a bar and restaurant environment.
- Opening and closing shifts, including cash ups and end of day sign offs
- Aid in developing & mentoring the Food & Beverage team to deliver great service.
- A willing to continue your development with both in-house and external training sessions.
