**About the role;**
Wood Mackenzie’s ambitious growth plans require a robust talent pipeline. This newly-created role is an exciting opportunity to lead the evolution of our early careers’ approach as part of our global Talent strategy.
You’ll own, develop, and deliver our early careers strategy, working with cross-functional senior stakeholders to determine their future talent requirements, and creating a scalable and sustainable approach to emerging talent development that promotes a strong employer brand, builds a diverse and inclusive workforce, and develops future-focused capabilities.
You’ll work closely with our in-house Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and Brand Marketing teams, and build relationships with educational institutions, apprenticeship providers, and vendors to create and resource world-class early careers programmes, which may include internships, graduate programmes, and apprenticeships. You’ll collaborate on the creation of memorable development experiences that accelerate the development of our priority skills and support the attraction & retention of high-potential talent in a competitive market.
Based in Edinburgh hubs, you’ll support the onboarding, engagement, and development of our early career talent both in person and through virtual means. And you’ll partner with our wider People and Leadership teams to coach and support them on programme implementation, evaluation, expansion, and continuous improvement.

What you need for this role;_**
- Experience working within a large, shared services / matrix operating model with multiple senior stakeholders.
- Development of end-to-end early careers experiences from attraction to development.
- Experience working in or collaboration with Talent Acquisition and/or Brand Marketing teams to attract a diverse pool of high-potential talent
- Supporting resourcing teams with assessment centres and recruiting processes for early careers roles and programmes
- Coordinating with business and HR leadership on resourcing needs and succession planning.
- Design, planning and delivery of learning experiences to develop core and business skills.
- Working with a high degree of autonomy, leveraging stakeholders and the wider team as appropriate to deliver results.
- An agile approach to strategic and operational planning, maintaining momentum while adapting to emerging trends and evolving business requirements.
- Effective stakeholder management, balancing a service-orientated approach with assertiveness to constructively challenge when necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for quickly developing effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Data capture and analysis, including performance data and external benchmarks, to evaluate success and draw insights that inform recommendations for improvements.
The following would be advantageous:
- Experience working within relevant industry sectors such as energy and natural resources, technology, or data.
- Strong relationships with educational institutions, apprenticeship providers, and relevant training providers in the early careers space.
- Knowledge and experience of apprenticeship levy in both England and Scotland
- Application of creative strategies to leverage untapped talent pools and increase diversity, equity and inclusion
- Team leadership and/or people management experience
- Supporting virtual and hybrid onboarding and development experiences.
