**We are currently looking to recruit General Operatives/Packers to work with our client based in Cookstown, BT80.**

**You will be part of the gap personnel team working on an ongoing basis at Cookstown Foods**

**The role of the General Operative/Packer**

You will have a key part to play in the production of the finished pork product, by having specific responsibilities for packaging, labelling and checking.
- Checking the product against specifications (size, weight, colour, packaging etc).
- Adjusting machine settings to handle changes from one size/type of product to another - Depending on role.
- Identifying errors/faults and reporting these to the Team Leader
- Packing goods ready for shipment in crates, boxes or dolays (as required), against quantity and layout specifications.
- Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness procedures are followed at all times.
- Competently performing any other tasks for which training has been completed and signed off.
- Being an ambassador for the business at all times, behaving in a professional and courteous manner with both internal / external customers.
- Strict adherence to Health & Safety rules and procedures. It is every employee’s duty, no matter what their position within the Company is, to assist the employer with its responsibilities towards Health and Safety.

- Attending and taking active part in various training activities or helping with training of other colleagues.

**Skills required**:

- Attention to detail/good observational skills to spot faults/contamination.
- Ability to work quickly in order to meet production targets.
- Good team working skills and the ability to work on own.
- Ability to follow strict health & safety guidelines and quality procedures.
- Patience to carry out repetitive tasks.
- Self-motivation.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to change as required.
- **Available shifts**:_
- Monday to Friday AM or PM shift
- AM - 6.30am - 3.00pm and 7.00am - 3.30pm
- PM - 4.00pm -12.00am
- **Salary**_:

- AM shift - £10.73 per hour
- PM shift - £12.34 per hour
- Overtime: Up to £16.10 after 40 hours
