Ionising Radiation Safety Lead

This is a cross site post working at both Colchester and Ipswich Hospital
Key responsibilities are
- Leadership and service provision of IR(ME)R legislation across all ESNEFT Diagnostic Imaging Departments
- Lead person for all radiation aspects of patient safety and equipment
- Co-ordinate Research both sites
- To lead on IR(ME)R legislation and patient safety within all the Diagnostic Imaging Departments within ESNEFT
- To take the Radiographic lead in the development, implementation, compliance and review of IRR policies and procedures within the Directorate
- To maintain personal knowledge of all radiation legislation, and to cascade information to the Department Management Team (DMT), Imaging department and other relevant staff as appropriate
- To communicate regularly to the Manager of the area and the AHP who are the responsible officer with regards the requirements under legislation
- To promote a good working relationship between the Imaging department and the Radiation Protection Department and CQC representatives
- To undertake radiation incident DATIX investigations, and Internal Investigations or Serious Incidents
