Every Soane Britain design is made in Britain in small workshops that excel in traditional crafts, such as iron forging, rattan weaving, chair making, precision engineering and saddlery.

Soane Britain’s client list includes international interior designers, decorators and architects with Soane Britain’s designs found in many important private houses, chalets and yachts around the world as well as hotels, restaurants, members clubs, boardrooms and retail spaces.

**The Leicester Workshops**:
Our Thurmaston workshops accommodate several manufacturing processes to complement our rattan manufacturing. The most significant is a dedicated fabrication, patination, assembly and wiring facility.

We are committed to expanding our operations in Thurmaston and this newly created role will form an integral part of the workshop team, producing some truly inspiring products.

**What to expect working for Soane**:
It’s a small, friendly team in Leicester, everyone gets stuck in with the tasks at hand, and takes tremendous pride in what they do. This role is suitable for someone with a keen eye for detail and the ability to achieve the excellent standards for which Soane Britain is well known.

**What your day will look like**:

- Polishing and preparation of brass components for finishing to a high standard
- Taking responsibility for specific processes with the workshop
- Assisting with general workshop maintenance and housekeeping
- Working with the Finishing Specialist and Fabricator to deliver outstanding designs

**We are looking for**:
Above all we are looking for enthusiastic people who are happy working independently, but still part of a small, yet dedicated team, who take pride in what they do. Experience of polishing or finishing to a high standard would be beneficial in this role.

Someone who is proficient at using hand and power tools would be desirable, and if you have experience in patination and electrical wiring that would be very useful

**What we can offer**:
Our standard working week is Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with a 1pm finish on a Friday, you don’t work on your birthday, at the weekend, nights or on public holidays. We also close between Christmas and New Year.
