You will be in a leading role in the design of major offshore and onshore HVDC networks for the full asset lifecycle from project conception to operational monitoring helping our clients solve some of the most urgent challenges of our time and our future.
- Some of the key focus areas of the role include:

- Support our Sales and Growth teams to develop relationships with existing customers in the sector, identify new opportunities and build relationships with new clients.
- Support our Global HVDC, Offshore Wind, and Sales and Growth teams to develop growth strategies in Region and Globally.
- Represent Jacobs in opening discussions on technical aspects of our delivery.
- Work with our Talent Acquisition to grow a sustainable design and consultancy team
- Produce clear and concise consultancy and technical reports.
- Carry out cable system design including rating, size, type, installation methods.
- Evaluation and identification of cable accessories - factory, field and repair joints, terminations, transition joints, link boxes etc.
- Support clients and our in-house team in resolution of HVDC cable related technical issues
- On behalf of clients review supplier and contractor cable design and installation proposals.
- Support clients on manufacturing processes, supply, installation and testing of HVDC onshore & offshore cables, including witnessing of type testing, FAT and installation.
- Support clients and in-house tendering process for all aspects and components including joints, terminations, transition joints, link boxes etc.
- Support clients with preparation of specifications and bid evaluation
- Advise clients and our in-house teams on requirements for design and surveys for onshore and offshore HVDC cables
- Act as the technical expert to support overall delivery of HVDC projects
- Review analyses / calculations performed by others, provide technical guidance and proactively resolve any discrepancies
- Preparing and/or checking specifications, design calculations, drawings and material take offs.
- The work will involve liaising with other disciplines, client and 3rd party contractors and coordinating and working with project team members across global offices to deliver the tasks within allotted timelines and budgets.
- You will ensure all outputs are compliant with our quality, project control, safety and governance procedures.

The role can be based in any of Jacobs' UK, Ireland, Germany or Scandinavia office locations.

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:

- Significant experience in technical leadership roles delivering HVDC designs for Transmission System Operators (TSOs), offshore wind farms, developers and contractors
- Meaningful relationships with client organisations and your counterparts in client organisations
- Experience of managing and developing high performing teams
- Knowledge of offshore design and assessment codes and recommended practices
- Proven excellent technical and practical engineering skills and able to consistently deliver on quality and schedule.
- Experience of optimising cable system designs
- Familiarity with design issues relating to long transmission cables and HVDC cables, installation methods and condition
- Knowledge of HVDC cable manufacturing, installation and testing
- Experience of leading teams involved in multidisciplinary work packages in international environments
- Proven experience in delivery of large packages, including contract management, programme management, cost and risk control
- Chartered Status (or working towards Chartered Status or an equivalent).

**Ideally, you'll also have**:

- Knowledge and experience of offshore/marine sector
- Design of HVDC cables for offshore wind farms
