Retail Team Leader

We are looking for someone who has the appetite to engage with our visitors, bring our product stories to life, merchandise our shop displays, enhance our plant areas, supervise our Team Members, boost our retail sales and look after our stock.

If you are keen to help us raise the funds that will look after the Nation's Historic Properties for generations to come, you might be just the person we are looking for.

**The Hours**:37.5 hours per week including some weekend shifts.

**Working Pattern**:7.5 hours per day, with seasonal variations.

**The Salary**:£19,305 per annum with 'increase' potential.

With this in mind, you'll be working away from the High Street, the town centre, and any other shops, out amongst nature, on one of our properties, set in either parkland, rolling hills or woodland.

**The Thames Valley **Portfolio is a cluster of three very different National Trust properties and shops, each one appealing to a different clientele: Basildon Park, Greys Court and Nuffield Place.

What you'll be doing:You'll be required to support the day-to-day management of the property retail operation so that it is commercially successful and consistently exceeds our visitors' expectations. You'll monitor stock and merchandise products to achieve stretching financial targets, leading by example when it comes to maximising our profitability and income.

You'll also supervise paid and voluntary retail staff and work effectively alongside colleagues elsewhere in the property to deliver great service to visitors, promoting and enhancing the property's sense of place.

With your love of working with people, and the desire to provide excellent customer service, you'll be aware of how the shop and plant area is seen from the visitor's perspective, maintain shop displays to a high standard, be flexible on your days, and help other departments around the property when needed.

- Experience of working in a retail environment including selling and merchandising skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of retail best practice including selling and merchandising skills and effective space management.
