**Salary: £23,760 FTE (£19,760 Basic + £3000 Market Rate Allowance)**

**YOU **is a registered charity that has been providing care, support and advice for over 30 years to vulnerable people, working across Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex and the Isle of Wight to give them the tools and resources they need to live independent, secure and valued lives.
**Essential Requirements**
- Be willing to work alternate weekends and bank holidays
- Be able to work late and/or early shifts
- Be able to cover sleep-in shifts as required as part of a rota
- Be a good communicator, and work well as part of a team
- Have experience working with vulnerable people
**The Role**:
Our staff members make a real difference. As a Support Worker you will be assisting people with a learning disability in their own home, and in the community to live the life they want. You will provide safe, person-centred support, promote independent living skills and help make clients’ hopes and aspirations a reality. Our staff support clients to go to the cinema, theatre trips, out for meals or a cup of coffee and even go on the odd shopping trip. How often do you get to do all of these fun things in a day job?
We also assist clients to find work or volunteering opportunities, access education at local colleges, get involved in community events, as well as helping with budgeting support, some personal care, cooking and cleaning and maintaining a home.

- Understand the needs of people with a learning disability
- Understand confidentiality and how this applies to clients
The people we support are looking for someone who is happy with a good sense of humour to work with them to achieve what they need when they need it. Their interests are wide and varied and include gardening, going to the cinema, going out for meals and lots of different leisure activities. They also want someone who is considerate when supporting with personal care and medication, able to offer cooking support and help to prevent the build up of debt through support with finances. They want a hardworking, polite, friendly and respectful person to do these things with.
