Are you an experienced graphic designer with a creative approach to engaging audiences ranging in age, cultural, social and educational background?
We have a fantastic job opportunity for a designer who is looking for a new challenge.
Working for the university’s central Student Recruitment Marketing team, you’ll play a key role in our mission to recruit the brightest and best students from across the globe to a degree course in science, engineering, medicine or business (STEMB).
Producing effective and creative designs across a range of mediums - print, websites, digital, experiential and social media - you’ll help to shape the way we present the study experience at a global top 10 university, based in central London, to the wider world.
With professional support and guidance from the College’s in-house creative studio, you’ll bring your creativity and technical know-how to bear on a range of design challenges, taking projects large and small from concept through to delivery, on time and on budget.
You will also provide design guidance to the wider College community.
Our work is exciting and ambitious, connecting students with STEMB courses that can open doors to new experiences and fantastic careers at the end of it.
**Duties and responsibilities**:
A little bit more about the role:
- Respond to design briefs with insightful concepts and ideas, incorporating insight into our priority audiences - prospective students, parents/carers, teachers/counsellors - and with a solid understanding of the nuances of different communication channels.
- Design print and digital materials for various projects (guides, presentations, social media, e-newsletters, marketing collateral)
- Help to lead the creative development of major printed recruitment marketing materials that align with our strategic goals for student recruitment, particularly around diversity.
- Commission photography from the in-house photographer and external freelancers, coordinating and art directing photoshoots.
- Research and procure external suppliers to handle jobs that need outsourcing, including printers, merchandise suppliers and illustrators.
**Note**: while we do support flexible working, this is not a fully remote role - a minimum of 40% of your time at our office on our South Kensington Campus will be required.
**Essential requirements**:
What we’re looking for:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, or equivalent experience in similar or related role(s)
- Exceptional knowledge of print and production processes
- Experience of designing for digital and social media channels
- Experience of working within a defined corporate brand identity
- Ability to take creative direction from senior colleagues
- Flexible approach and willingness to adapt your ideas to the needs of the brand
- Client-facing experience
- Curiosity about new technologies and communication channels used by youth audiences
- Multimedia and animation skills are highly desirable. Copywriting skills are a plus
You don't necessarily need to have worked in Higher Education before, but you do need a passion for it. Previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment and an ability to adapt, whilst maintaining a high level of creativity are a must.
**Further information**:
Full details about this role can be found on the Job Description.
This is a full time and open ended position and you will be based in the South Kensington Campus.
No recruitment agencies please. CVs will also not be accepted.
