Then this position is for you We are looking for a full-time / part-time Support Worker who has great attention to detail, is resilient and truly wants to make a difference in people’s lives.
**What will you be doing?**
We always aim to have a positive impact on the day-to-day life of the people who draw on our support. Your day as a Support worker will often start with helping them get ready in the morning, including having a shower or bath, using the bathroom and getting dressed. From here, every day is different. You may be supporting them whilst they go shopping, keep fit, go to their weekly clubs and activities, or simply keeping them company whilst they stay in and watch their favourite TV shows. You may also need to support them to take medication and attend medical appointments, but full training will be provided.
As you've probably worked out these individuals are full of life and fun to be with, could you support them to lead lives that make sense to them? We are hoping that you can bring new ideas and introduce us to more things that we can do.
**Who will you be supporting?**
You will be providing invaluable support to 10 people aged between 25-70 who have either a physical or learning disability, and/or autism. Everyone who draws on our support have their own flat at the service which gives them the freedom to live their own lives. You will be supporting everyone, helping them gain their independence and supporting them to learn new life skills.
**What about pay?**
In Birkenhead, MacIntyre Support Workers will earn an hourly rate of £12.00, meaning your annual salary will be £23,463. In addition to your annual salary, you’ll have the opportunity to work sleep-ins* at an extra £60 per night. This adds an extra £2,880 to your annual salary if you do 1 sleep in a week. There is also often overtime hours available too
**Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorships as we await further guidance from the Home Office. Applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered at this time. We appreciate your understanding.**

**What do we want from you?**
We are looking for people who share our values, who are warm, friendly and willing to learn, and also who celebrate people’s differences. At MacIntyre, we strive to make all of our staff feel included, valued and respected, just like the people we support.
You don't have to have any past care experience but a kind, caring, creative and patient attitude is a must. We will train you on all the formal key skills you will need in terms of Emergency first aid, safeguarding and giving medication. We hold a number of full and half day training courses (9am-4pm) that you will be expected to attend whilst you are working with MacIntyre, but don’t worry, you will be given plenty of notice.
Due to the needs of the people we support, holding a manual UK driving licence is desirable as your ability to drive unlocks the opportunities for people to do the things they really enjoy However this is not essential as the service has access to many forms of public transport.
We provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and so the ability to work bank holidays and weekends is desirable. You will be working on a shift pattern which may include regular early morning starts (7am) and late evening finishes (10pm). Therefore, we need you to be flexible with your availability, but we do always try and be fair when distributing shifts.
**About us**
MacIntyre is a national charity which supports over 1,200 people with a learning disability and/or autism.
We were founded in 1966 by the visionary parent of a child with disabilities and have been growing steadily ever since. We celebrate and develop everyone’s unique gifts, talents and contributions.
**Training and Development**
At Macintyre we fully support your training and development. We know it can be daunting to start a new job, and not everyone learns the same way, so throughout your probation we will provide you with a mixture of eLearning, face-to-face training and mentoring support whilst on the job.
But it doesn't stop there - throughout your career with us you will have access to our own dedicated in house Learning and Development team, Quality Specialists and HR Teams. These teams, along with your Manager, will provide you with opportunities to learn and develop professionally as well as enabling and supporting you to achieve professional qualifications and career progression opportunities - all free of charge.
**Pay and Rewards**
We provide a range of benefits to reward and thank our staff which includes:
- Six weeks' annual leave including statutory publi
