**Overall purpose of role**
As part of our continued growth we are now looking to appoint an Administrator within our Court of Protection - Health & Welfare department to support the fee earners based in Penrith and support the wider team.
**Responsibilities and duties**
**Key tasks** (not an exhaustive list and these may be done by others in the COP H&W admin/support team but they may be required from time to time):
- Audio and copy typing for the COP team
- Preparing COP files for billing;
- Monthly quarterly legal aid interim billing and keeping billing spreadsheet up to date.
- End of case billing, including bundling, discharging legal aid certificates and preparation of documents for the Law Costs Draftsman and Senior Courts Cost Office/Legal Aid Agency.
- Opening new COPH&W and Mental Health files as appropriate, transferring time/relevant documents and closing files.
- Updating the COP Costs spreadsheets as and when any changes are made
- Transferring time as instructed
- Arranging appointments with clients and visits to care homes/placements
- Prepare agendas and take minutes for monthly COP H&W team meetings
- General office admin to support the fee earners
- Support the COP Health and Welfare team in administrating ad hoc client requirements (research)
- Assisting with mental health case admin including completion of HQ1s and CW1&2 forms.
- Legal aid portal administration.
- Recording of key dates
- Preparing chitties including dealing with payment of invoices.
**Supporting Role**
- To provide cover when necessary i.e. opening new files, completing chitties etc
In addition, you are expected to display the following skills and attributes at all times;

- To be able to work individually and as part of a team, ensuring all firm’s procedures are followed and adhered to at all times.

- To attend and complete any relevant training as agreed.
