We have an exciting opportunity to join our Transformation Team.
As the Head of Transformation for General Merchandise (GM) & Clothing, you will be at the heart of helping the CTO & Operating Board shape and deliver our 3- to 5-year GM & Clothing Transformation agenda across Sainsburys, Argos, Habitat and Tu. Working with the Director of GM Transformation as part of a small, but mighty, team you will be responsible for leading complex, E2E change Transformation programmes on behalf of the business.
You will pull together & lead the right cross-functional team on programmes from ideation through to initial implementation working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business at all levels to lead and accelerate change.
You will drive end-to-end thinking, employing an outcome-centric & hypothesis-led approach to problem solving & innovation. Your programmes will be led brilliantly to deliver change at pace, creating high-performing E2E teams. As the face of the programme you will galvanise others to get behind the change, and champion a Transformation mindset.

- Translate the GM & Clothing strategy into action plan across multiple business areas
- Bring together multiple functions across the business to deliver the transformation agenda set out
- Work across the business to drive the plan, identify blockers & areas for acceleration
- Help identify and shape options to help land the transformation within Sainsburys
- Form clear & robust narratives & use storytelling to inspire change
- Engage senior stakeholders to drive decision making and where needed, prioritisation
- Work with finance to ensure the right resources & measures are in place to support the delivery of the programme
**What you need to Know & Show**
- A Strength in driving end-to-end strategic thinking with a growth mindset
- Well organised with experience of working within a change or programme management environment
- Experience of shaping and implementing major transformation projects/programmes in the retail industry
- A strength in using data, insight and external innovation to drive complex decisions/projects
- Ability to identify strategic issues, synthesise information and present recommendations in a clear and structured manner with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to innovate and implement, combining analytical perspectives with a pragmatic approach.
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence at the highest level of the business, forming strong working relationships
- IT fluent with strong Excel skills and use of dashboards
- Brilliant at building strong relationships across the business to make change happen
- Ability to take complex constructs and simplify them for a variety of different stakeholders
- Drive clarity and simplicity from positions of ambiguity by framing the right business questions
- Strong programme management skills
