- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary situation.

- Experience of working with project management methodologies
- Experience of training and / or mentoring
- Experience as a Project Team Leader.

**Skills and specialist knowledge**:

- Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation (including Health and Safety), codes of practice, regulations, contract standards and conditions.
- Understanding of the client / consultancy / contractor's role.
- Good organisational, interpersonal and financial management skills.
- The ability to work on more than one project at a time.
- The ability to adapt to cost changes, client needs, statutory bodies, and re-timing the work accordingly.
- The ability to design, monitor and provide feedback.
- The ability to use CAD.
- The ability to use NBS Contract Administrator.
- Knowledge and understanding of development in construction procurement and contract management.
- The ability to prepare reports, work programmes and budgets.

**Purpose of the post**:

- Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
- Manage, or assist on, projects under the direction of the Principal Buildings Surveyor / Senior Manager to ensure that service is provided successfully in accordance with the specific requirements of the Client’s brief in terms of cost, time and quality.
- To develop a personal specialist expertise in technical and design related issues.
- To use project management techniques and systems (e.g. PRINCE2, the Council’s Project Management Handbook etc) that will ensure that the Consultancy gives full commitment to satisfy Client needs to deliver value for money whilst operating on a commercial basis and adapting itself to compete effectively
- Manage a flexible project team, in the Unit and in the Service as a whole, and be part of, and provide, support to team members.
