**Scope of Role**:
Responsible for managing all aspects of Environment, Health & Safety, advising on legal compliance, providing training and managing mandatory training requirements, completing risk assessments, providing tool box talks and communication on EHS matters, maintaining and implementing EHS procedures, and auditing for compliance.

The role will involve conducting site inspections nationwide.

**Key Accountabilities/Deliverables**:

- Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, management of Health and Safety at Work regulations 1999 and other applicable legislation.
- Provide professional advice and guidance to managers and employees on health and safety, welfare, compliance, and environmental issues.
- Provide consultancy and timely review of MTT’s EHS related communications with internal and external customers to complete tasks and resolve issues.
- Contribute to the development of, and provide day to day “hands on” implementation of, documented Environment, Health, Safety and Risk Management policies and procedures.
- Conduct relevant hazard and risk assessments across MTT’s facilities and customer sites and coordinate the implementation of any corrective actions.
- Undertake accident/incident investigations and prepare accurate and professional reviews, including appropriate recommendations where necessary.
- Prepare for external audits to ensure internal and external standards are met and record and track any improvement actions required.
- Ensure availability of EHS related documentation to support external audit compliance and ongoing certification (RISQS, Safe Contractor, ISO14001 and ISO45001).
- Conduct internal audits on EHS performance, report on findings, recommend and implement improvement methods.
- Ensure that all project EHS obligations are identified (including Safety Function Requirements) and work with the project team to ensure that these are being achieved.
- Ensure statutory inspections are completed within the required timeframe.
- Produce reports advising management of concerns and opportunities to improve EHS performance both in the internal production environment and across the company.
- Deliver and contribute to the development of EHS induction material, training programmes and strategies, to ensure that operational management and all employees are appropriately trained and made aware of their responsibilities in relation to health and safety matters.

**Qualifications / Experience**:

- Have at least 3 years of professional experience in Environmental and Health &Safety Management, preferably in the Engineering sector / Safety-Critical industry.
- Qualified to Nebosh General Certificate level and a Technical member of IOSH as a minimum.
- Machine tool knowledge would be an advantage.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all tasks.
- Intermediate level Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
