Innovate Services work in partnership with local authorities across the UK to identify better, more efficient ways of delivering children’s social work, children’s residential, and foster carer services by externally supporting a council’s children’s services department.

Family Support Worker/Family Engagement Worker required in the East Midlands.

**Team/Specialism**:Children’s Services

**Salary**: £28,000 per annum

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Work as part of a therapeutic team, working directly with children, young people and their carers, ensuring this is undertaken within the framework which is set.
- To be involved in the practice aspects of the home setting and assist in the therapeutic intervention process and keep accurate records of visits and intervention.
- Work directly with children, young people and their carers in a skilled and focused way to meet and inform the requirements of the therapeutic plan, ensuring the voice of the child is heard.
- Help to prepare children and young people for foster care placements; a move home; or a move with family.
- Attend reflective meetings to review the therapeutic plans and care provided by existing foster carers or family members.
- Ensure high standards of record keeping and report writing where requested to evidence the plan of work and outcomes achieved.

**Requirements of the Family Support Worker/**Family Engagement Worker**:

- Extensive experience of supporting children and young people.
- Experience in contextualised safeguarding, drugs, and alcohol, and have an understanding of Domestic Abuse and promote the safety and welfare of children and young people.
