**Job Role**:
Are you looking for a new role that makes a difference to the older generation?

Our housekeeping team play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in our care service buildings, ensuring that every room and living space is clean and tidy at all times. A champion for hygiene and infection control within the service, you'll have access to special equipment and materials to ensure you can create a welcoming, safe and comfortable environment for residents, as well as their friends and families.

We are looking for a full time Housekeeping Assistant (35 hours per week) to work five shifts a week on a rota in our residential care home, extra care scheme and independent living sites in Solihull. Some weekend working is required.

You will maintain a high standard of cleanliness in residents' rooms, offices, all communal areas of the building including lounges, corridors, bathrooms and dining rooms. Your role also includes working in our laundry keeping residents' clothing and bed linen looking and feeling great; washing, drying, ironing and repairing items as needed.

**General Requirements**:
Experience is desirable, but not essential, as we train all our staff to deliver a high level of service. All of our staff are offered the opportunity to progress, which is why we encourage, develop and train our staff to reach their potential.

We are looking for excellent time management and organisational skills but just as importantly we seek people with good communication skills, who are caring and kind and sensitive to the needs of older people.

**Person Specification**:

- Knowledge of working practices in a commercial laundry is desirable
- Cleaning experience in a similar environment is desirable
- Awareness of infection control measures
- Awareness of health and safety
- A caring person who is sensitive to the needs of older vulnerable people and who can engage with and communicate with a diverse range of people
- Able to work independently and within a team
- A positive can-do attitude.
