- Responsible role, essentially the Night Manager for the hotel.

The Duke of Edinburgh Hotel is a quality, well established bar, restaurant and hotel based in the centre of Barrow in Furness, opposite the train station.

The Night Porter role is one of the most important in the hotel, as it manages the building during the night hours. Working 12 midnight to 8am, 7 days on followed by 7 days off, this job includes a number of duties including:

- Preparing the bar and restaurant area for breakfast
- Regular security checks around the building
- Checking in late arrivals to the hotel
- Dealing with any guest problems and issues during the night
- Ensuring our guests safety, comfort and security at all times
- Occasionally running the bar for residents who wish to have a late night drink
- Some basic housekeeping duties

The person we are looking for will have the following skills or experience:

- Capable of working without 24/7 supervision and comfortable working on their own.
- Able to handle a balanced schedule of nightly tasks with one-off issues
- Completely honest and reliable with references to support this
- Able to handle the strains of working a Midnight to 8am shift for 7 consecutive days.
- Personable with good manners dealing with the general public.
