**Senior Design Engineer**

**£35,000 - £40,000 DOE**

Outskirts of Bedford - (Could be home based with travel to sites)

We are pleased to be recruiting a Senior Design Engineer for a busy and vibrant business based on the outskirts of Bedford,

**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Leading CAD team including managing workloads and timescales. Completing production drawings, designs on future products and prototypes. Working with CAD Engineers on projects providing advice and design checks. All drawing works completed in AutoDesk Inventor.Liaising directly with the contracts and project co-ordination team and customers to obtain information to enable completion of drawing work for release to production.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Reviewing all orders that are issued from the Project Co-ordinators and contracts team to ensure relevant information is available to complete production drawings and schedules.
- Managing workload and time scales with 4+ CAD Engineers to meet production and procurement lead times.
- To provide accurate production drawings.
- Attending weekly Production Meetings to update on live projects and timescales to production.
- Running weekly meetings with CAD team.
- Working closely with Design and Technical team on new updates, designs etc
- There will be a requirement for completing manufacturing drawings for production team yourself.
- Ensuring information produced for the factory is accurate and meets with our certification and the customer requirements.
- Working with suppliers and group companies to develop cost effective design for fabrication.

**Role Requirements**:

- Must be able to operate efficiently and ACCURATELY AutoDesk Inventor 2017.
- Ability to read and understand technical construction and engineering drawings.
- Previous experience in our field is not required but distinct advantage will be given to those from steel fabrication back ground.
- Previous experience or knowledge of iLogic would be a distinct advantage.
- Ideally educated to degree level in an engineering discipline.
- Driving license and passport.

**Prior to starting work due to the security level you will be required to complete Disclosure Scotland Standard Vetting. It will also be part of your role to obtain SC clearance. These points will be discussed at your interview.**
