An exciting opportunity has opened for several apprentice positions to work in our Repairs and Maintenance and Investment departments as a Trade Apprentice at Thirteen.

We have opportunities for apprentices to join us in the following trades:

- Joinery x4
- Bricklayer x2
- Painting and Decorating x2
- Plumbing and Heating Technician x 4
- Plasterer x3

**Apprentice Bricklayer**:
As an apprentice bricklayer you will gain experience and qualifications to complete a full range of building and repairing structures, such as walls, paths and paving, using bricks and stones, as well as preparing mortar and ensuring structures are level. You will also have the opportunity to build skills in other basic skills, supporting your mentors and team members.

Duration: 2 years
Qualification: Level 2 Bricklayer
Place of Study: Middlesbrough College
Qualifications required: GCSE Grade 3-7 (A-D) in Maths and English

We’re looking for motivated, enthusiastic individuals to join our team and our apprenticeship programme. The apprenticeship opportunities are open to anyone aged 16 or over, who is looking to start and build a successful career with one of the largest employers in the Northeast.

We offer a structured programme with on-the-job training and support, working with our skilled staff alongside developing your own personal skills to help you really achieve your full potential whist earning a wage.

Thirteen’s trade apprentices will work 37 hours per week across the boundaries of Stockton, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough, with one day at college, studying your qualification on a fixed term contract. Salaries start at £11,208 in the first year, with increases each year as you progress through your qualification.

You must be willing and able to travel across the boundaries of Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Stockton for work and be able to travel to Middlesbrough College once a week.

**Who we are and what we do?**:
Thirteen has a history of growth. Thirteen in its present form was created in 2017 through the mergers and consolidation of four housing companies and a care organisation to create a strong social purpose housing association. In July 2021, we acquired 1,400 properties from another housing provider, and today we own over 34,000 properties and manage over 35,000 homes, with over 1,500 colleagues providing services for more than 72,000 customers. Most of our homes are in our Tees Valley heartland, but we’re actively expanding our presence throughout the North East, Yorkshire and the Humber region, with a growing development programme to meet housing needs.

**Qualification Requirements**:
Please bear in mind, you may be required, as part of your apprenticeship to study for your Functional Skills in Maths, English and IT if you didn’t achieve a 4/C or above at GCSE.

If you already hold a level 2 or above qualification or part way the apprenticeships, we are offering. We unfortunately won’t be able to offer you one of our apprenticeships as having the qualification will make you ineligible to study with our providers.
