Locum Consultant in Adult Anaesthesia (Special interest in Diagnostic and Imaging procedures)

The Royal Brompton Hospital, part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a full-time locum Consultant in Adult Anaesthesia with special interest in Diagnostic and Imaging procedures.

This is a new post based in our recently opened Diagnostic Centre at the Royal Brompton Hospital site.

Applicants are required to be fully registered Medical Practitioners and be on the GMC’s Specialist Register in Anaesthesia or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.

The clinical role is to provide anaesthetic support to procedures in interventional radiology and interventional bronchoscopy. Most of the activity is delivered as day case procedures, with some additional cases for inpatients.

The post holder will provide clinical services in Anaesthesia in accordance with clinical and legal requirements and in keeping with the international role of the Trust.

This clinical role is in Adult Anaesthesia.
- To work within the Anaesthesia team to provide clinical service.
- To attend IGT suite clinical anaesthesia and peri-operative assessment and care as part of a team-based approach.
- To provide clinical services in Anaesthesia in accordance with clinical and legal requirements and in keeping with the international role of the Trust.
- To participate in Clinical Governance, Audit and Quality Improvement initiatives within Anaesthesia.
- An additional role or contribution would be a major advantage. This could take the form of an interest and role in an aspect of echocardiography, research, education and training etc.
