The Role

AI will be used to make metadata creation easier in the Solidatus solution.
- Metadata items will be classified using the recognition capabilities of machine learning models.
- Bodies of data-related information will be ingested to create metadata.
- Once metadata has been created, it can be used to generate insight, for example about the flows of information in an organisation, or about the consequences of changes.

The uses of AI in the Solidatus solution need not be limited to the above.

Using AI to make metadata creation and insight easier rests on analysis of the current capabilities and user processes around the Solidatus solution in order to identify specific functions which could be made easier or new capabilities which could be introducedusing AI technology. The AI Engineer must be able to:

- Study and analyse the Solidatus solution and the processes around its use;
- Track AI research and the development of new technology which may contribute to the Solidatus solution.
- Support pre
- and post-sales client-facing activities plus internal and external communication as required.

Knowledge and Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in software development, programming, data science and data engineering
- 5+ years of current hands-on experience in AI related technologies and R&D
- Demonstrated knowledge of academic publishing and/or adjacent market segments, key competitors, and related technology practices / trends is preferred but not required

Skills and Behaviours Required
- Must love commercial software development and have a track record of delivering value in new and novel areas of technology.
- Experience in a variety of machine learning algorithms and techniques.
- Programming experience using Python/R/Java
- Experience in AI libraries is required
- Experience with one or more AI Platforms such as Google AI, TensorFlow, Amazon SageMaker, or Microsoft Azure ML
- Programming experience is a plus
- Experience in data science/engineering and related technologies such as SQL, data storage and ETL
- Experience in exploratory data analysis looking for correlations and outliers
- Demonstrate and foster critical thinking and problem solving in a team environment
- Demonstrate a curiosity for new technologies and tools
