As an outstanding maternity service we offer an outstanding approach to customer service. As ward administrator for the Lindo Wing you will need excellent customer service skills and ability to take a proactive, professional and confidential approach when dealing with our service users. You will require exemplary communication skills both verbal and non-verbal. Alongside, a willingness to proactively work as part of the private healthcare team in providing ‘World Class Care’ for the women and birthing people that we care for.
You will be responsible for the Lindo Wing maternity receptions. Your duties include acting as the focal point for all non-clinical enquiries on the ward. Alongside, See clerical tasks, as agreed with the management team to ensure that the administrative systems meet the needs of the service.
You will be required to operate appropriate ICT systems and liaise effectively with other health agencies relevant to the clinical area.
Act as the focal point for all non-clinical enquiries on the ward. Deal with all enquiries as appropriate and pass on accurate and discreet messages and information as required. Take a proactive, professional and confidential approach when dealing with service users, mothers and birthing people, relatives and staff.
To undertake any other clerical task as agreed mutually with the management team/admin manager to ensure that the administrative systems meet the needs of the service.
To liase with the shift leader on a daily basis to ensure the effective running of the department.
Provide administrative support to the service ensuring all communications and correspondence including maternity discharge information is processed accurately and on time.
Ensure that all inpatients are correctly and fully registered on the patient administration system (Cerner), checking that all admission documents are complete and accurate.
Ensure that patient flow remains live to accurately reflect bed occupancy on Cerner and Compucare.
Ensure all discharged patients receive a follow up telephone call within 48 hours of discharge, which is documented in the patient record
Report maintenance requirements to the estates and Hotel Services Departments.
Review of ward area and organising necessary replenishments and refurbishments as required.
Use initiative and work without direct supervision, as well as to use relevant information technology to facilitate the performance of tasks.
