We have an exciting opportunity for a **Quality Engineer** to join our team based in**Welham Green.**You will be joining us on a **full-time, permanent basis** and in return, you will receive a **competitive salary.**

**Davall Gears** is a long-established UK manufacturer and supplier for the design and production of gearing systems and specialist gearboxes. Established in 1886, the company have been long associated with the supply of precision gears to companiesacross the world. Certified to AS9100 Rev D and accredited to Nadcap special process EDM machining. Davall is a specialist in the aerospace and defence power transmission field and has an “in-house” design and technical department to call upon for the development,prototype and manufacture of systems and assemblies for commercial, medical, military and aerospace industries.

**Working hours**: 39 hours a week. Monday to Thursday. 08:00am until 5:00pm. Fridays 08:00 until 1:00pm.

**About the Quality Engineer role**:
As our Quality Engineer, you will support our growing business. We are looking for someone that has in-depth practical quality engineering experience that always demonstrates professional behaviour, working in either the aerospace, automotive or medicaldevices industry who has been in low/medium volume manufacturing environments for precision machined (preferably with Geared) products. The position would be part of a team that is responsible for carrying out a variety of assurance activities within the fulllifecycle of both contract and product.

**Key responsibilities of our Quality Engineer**:

- Leading RCA investigations
- Preparation for AS9100/ISO 9001 audits
- Handling customer and suppliers’ quality issues
- Creating and delivering internal and second party audits
- Supplier management:approval, evaluation and development where required
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in the business management systems
- Developing and delivering quality module training
- Instructing other employees in quality principles, effective corrective actions, and valid statistical techniques
- Collaborating with other departments and facilities within the company on quality related issues
- Maintaining product integrity and quality through support of evaluation and disposition of nonconforming materials
- Management of the non-conformance system and chairing cross-functional reviews
- Handling PPAP submissions
- Any other quality tasks as required by the business

**Whatwe’re looking for in ourQuality Engineer**:
**Essential**
- Experience of a manufacturing environment
- In-depth practical quality engineering experience working in either the aerospace, automotive or medical devices industry
- Experienced in carrying out internal and second party audits
- Experienced in the use of quality tools
- Pro-active and able to challenge current processes to support continuous improvement
- **Applicants must have the right to work in the UK**

**Desirable**
- Qualified lead auditor (to ISO 9001/IATF 16949/AS 9100)
- Experience with Minitab
- APQP/PPAP experience
- NADCAP experience
