YOUTH WORKER

Teaching Personnel have been approached by a school in Maidenhead who require a Youth Worker to help a cohort of children who are currently disengaged for their education. The school is a specialist SEN provision which caters for boys and girls from KS1to KS4, who have a diagnosis of Autism as well as SEMH difficulties.

The school attempts to provide specialist and individualised support for each pupil who attends this school and uses therapeutic measures to help resolve some of their barriers to their education.T his provision has a wide and varied curriculum which canappeal to the strengths of each pupil and help them to re-engage.

As a youth worker, you will be responsible for:

- Helping a cohort of pupils to engage in their lessons
- Be a motivator for pupils when they do not want to attend
- Build rapport with pupils
- Advocate for them when others are planning a individualised curriculum
- Support pupils in and outside of lessons

Previous experience with challenging behaviour would be great but isn’t essential. The right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important. These roles are ideal for people working in customer facing industries including retail,hospitality and leisure, looking for a new role that makes a real difference to children’s lives and futures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
