Project Manager

OCC Computing are actively looking for multiple Project Managers who are rounded individuals with both a technical understanding and strong interpersonal and people management skills.

In this role you will be responsible for the management, leadership and delivery of high value software implementation projects. You will possess relevant industry experience and have a clear understanding and proven ability to implement IT solutions, butalso have a firm grounding in change management and the software development lifecycle

You will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery: managing a direct consulting and delivery team onsite, and / or remotely; liaising with any offsite and 3rd party resources for activities such as software development and handing over to ‘businessas usual’ support. You will be responsible for managing stakeholders and complex relationships with other parties involved in the delivery of large-scale client programmes of work. You will also be responsible for supporting our client resources to ensurethat projects are delivered to time, cost and quality.

You will have a clear focus on customer needs and the industry context, benefits, deliverables, scope and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities and Activities
- Management and delivery of software implementation projects and programmes
- Line management of project team
- Management of multiple parties involved projects and programmes e.g., 3rd party suppliers, systems integrators
- Key relationship management of client and other stakeholders
- Sizing, scoping, planning, costing and managing project / programme delivery
- Management of issues, risks, dependencies, change control and quality deliverable production
- Project planning and reporting using MS Project or similar
- Adherence to project delivery standards and processes
- Supporting other parties in delivering a successful overall project
- Ensuring compliance to critical success factors / objectives of project and quality of delivery

Essential Skills and Experience
- Sized, scoped, planned, costed and project managed several large-scale complex software enabled business change projects and programmes through the whole project lifecycle, delivering software and associated professional services, and transitioning thoseprojects to support or managed service.
- Bid and proposal management and production.
- Experience in one or more of the following: implementations of Energy Retail Solutions (particularly relating to industry data flows), Enterprise software solutions and Systems Integration.
- Managed large teams of people with demonstrable people management skills.
- Managed multiple parties in the delivery of projects e.g., 3rd party suppliers, systems integrators, offshore resources, either directly or indirectly.
- Experienced at building strong relationships with senior level clients / customers and stakeholders to facilitate successful project / programme delivery.
- Excellent communication and document production skills.
- Experience of using MS Project or equivalent for project planning and progress reporting.

Preferred Skills and Experience
- PRINCE2 practitioner.
- Industry specific experience gained in Energy Utilities or associated sectors.
- Experience of benefits case development, management and realisation.
- Presales and business development experience.

Prerequisites

As this is a consultancy role the individual must be able to travel and be away from home for significant periods of time (Monday - Friday).
