We have an exciting opportunity for a a Case Worker to join our Distress Brief Intervention (DBI) on a 12-month contract (maternity cover). This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role. A Distress Brief Intervention is a time limited and supportive problem-solving contact with an individual in distress. Distress is defined as an emotional pain for which the person sought, or was referred for, help and which does not require (further) emergency service response.

You will provide support focused on active, empathic listening, helping the person to problem solve and to link into services and other local support resources. You will help co-produce a crisis plan, relapse prevention and other self-management tools in partnership with the individual, then support the individual through this. You will support the individual to develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence to withstand future life challenges, whilst maintaining good mental health and wellbeing. To be successful in this role you will need to be self-motivated, with a good up to date knowledge of the issues affecting people in the community, have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage and organize your own caseload.
