In line with the Government’s Shared Services Strategy, the Matrix Programme is intending to deliver modern, cost-effective and scalable shared business services to nine departments (the Policy Cluster), with UKSBS as the provider, flexibly meeting changing Government requirements, and driving innovation to optimise efficiencies and enhance user experience. The Programme will also implement a new modern SaaS ERP platform, from which UKSBS can deliver these services, driving harmonisation and significant business change across the Departments. This is a large, complex multi-year programme and as part of this programme we are now seeking an experienced Programme Risk Officer.
Key responsibilities, will include but are not limited to:
- Support members of the Executive Team, Head of RISC and the Risk and Assurance Manager in delivering the Matrix programme through good risk management.
- To support the Risk and Assurance Manager to promote and embed best practice in managing risks and the impacts
- Take ownership of the UKSBS Matrix risk register reviews and ensuring that all risks and controls are identified, consistently assessed and have effective ownership.
- Create regular management information and report on risk management to both the Risk and Assurance Manager and the Matrix Programme
- Build strong working relationships with key internal customers and external customers.
- Act as a specialist and provide guidance on risk and controls.
- Working closely with other teams across the wider RISC (Risk, Information and Security Compliance) teams and the wider business, sharing information on risks, controls, and issues.
Flexibility may be required to respond to the changing needs of the organisation and the service. You may also be asked to support with ad hoc projects and pieces of work relevant to your role in line with Matrix programme business requirements.
Knowledge, skills and behaviours:
- Professional qualifications or professional accreditation within the field of Risk Management (for example from the Institute of Risk Management)
- Proven experience work as a Risk Specialist, working in project delivery environment ideally in the public sector or a highly regulated environment
- Experience of working in and managing risks across complex projects or programmes.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build and lead multi-disciplinary teams and strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- First class written and oral communication skills

**Things you need to know**
To be considered, you will need to successfully obtain BPSS before commencing the role, obtaining clearance usually takes 5-10 working days.

Full-time, hybrid
