Category Manager Software, Digital & Telecom Procurement
A global pharmaceutical organisation specialising in ground-breaking oncology research is now in need of a Category Manager to come on board their global team.
Location: Addlestone Hybrid role 1 day a week in the office and 4 days remote
Pay rate: 463.50 per day
Duration: 6 months (Potential 2 months extension)
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver FY22 project pipeline for Software & Digital, including conclusion of all RFP and contracting activities from FY21 within the agreed project timeline/s.
Maintain and update the IT Software Digital and Telco Category strategy. Perform analysis of category spend to assist in the development of sourcing strategies for the assigned category
Connect on a regular basis with other non-IT Procurement Category Managers across other towers, e.g. HR, Market Insights, to maintain pipeline of projects and ensure IS involvement in all business-led IT sourcing activities.
Attend all project related meetings, including representation at Steering Committees when appropriate.
Provide regular updates both virtually and offline, including maintenance of project trackers
Deliver against savings target, to be confirmed at the start of engagement.
Responsible for sourcing project management activities for RFPs/RFQs including: creating and uploading RFP materials and templates into Ariba sourcing platform, scheduling presentations and internal meetings, sending vendor communications, and creating RFPscorecards, reports and sending team updates.
Help to develop vendor negotiation strategies and take lead on vendor calls for both new vendor contracts and existing renewals. Partner with business units and legal team in the negotiation of contracts and agreements
Proactively monitors and interprets market intelligence trends that impact category group and adapts strategies to mitigate risks or identify new potential vendors.
Identify any additional savings or sourcing process opportunities and work with category manager on implementing.
**Experience**:
5 years + of Category Manager experience within the IT space
2-3 years of global experience
