HR Advisor

Jackson Hogg is currently looking to recruit a HR Advisor for a fantastic business to work out of their Brighton or Reading Office.
The HR Officer will coordinate HR activities and provide guidance to ensure relevant policies and procedures are applied to consistently support the direction of the organisation. Build positive relationships with all stakeholders, able to challenge attitudes with confidence and accommodate resolutions. Work in partnership with the HR team to promote company values, achieve best practice and overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, influence and coach managers on all operational HR matters including absence, discipline, grievance, employee engagement, performance and capability to implement HR best practice consistently and to a high standard.
- Manage and support all people issues, escalate complex cases to ensure that these are addressed appropriately and in accordance with guidelines and legislation.
- Collaboration with HR team on caseload and facilitate lessons learned sessions.
- Develop and review HR policies, processes and guidance in line with legislation, terms and conditions of service and best practice.
- Manage occupational health referrals with external provider and support on adjustments, recommendations and promote an early return to work.
- Pro-actively build relationships with all stakeholders, partners and trade union representatives to support business delivery.
- Gather, analyse, evaluate, and deliver user friendly HR metrics to support optimum operational delivery.
- Determine and plan HR requirements in conjunction with HR Business Partners and managers to ensure the business area has the capacity and capability to achieve business objectives.
- Maintain a broad knowledge, networking of strategic HR best practice to enable the business to benefit from new market trends, HR developments and legislation.
- Support the HR Business Partners with key projects such as TUPE and restructuring, so that activities take place in a timely and organised fashion in accordance with employment legislation to limit the risk of litigation.
- Adhere to all GDPR requirements and always uphold confidentiality.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment with colleagues across all functions and ensure employee relations issues are addressed effectively, empathetically and in a timely manner.
- Carrying out ad hoc generalist HR work.
Personal Specification
- CIPD qualified or equivalent and evidence of continuous professional development
- Experience of working within a fast-paced HR team, multi-site environment
- Considerable knowledge of UK employment legislation
- Experience of leadership and track record of success in influencing colleagues and stakeholders.
