Trainee Setter

This is an outstanding opportunity for a mechanically minderd person who is keen to work in a technical environment and has been considering a role with a formal structured training scheme. This is not a temporary role, if you are looking to commit to a3 year progtamme please read below:
As a trainee setter you will be committing to a 3 year training scheme, consisting of both internal and external training.

Trainee schedule,
- 1st year, at a technical college obtaining a Level 3 Diploma in Polymer, Manufacturing Technologies (1 week per month - term time) additionally developing to an internal training schedule.
- 2nd year, Continued internal development, extending out to automation and robotics training.(Off site training at approved training facilities and/or equipment suppliers)
- 3rd year, Continued internal development extending to High Performance Moulding or an equivalent training program. (Off site training at approved training facilities and equipment suppliers).
- Career progression in the role is made up of 7 stages, starting as a Trainee progressing through the stages to Technician level 3.

**Main Purpose of the Role**
- Working in a safe manner while adhering to our Health and Safety policy and guidelines, together with good housekeeping practices, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
- Attend the appropriate and scheduled courses and training sessions in line with the trainee program.
- To implement knowledge gained through the trainee program through a measured performance and task based analysis.
- To assist on the installation and setting of tooling in nominated injection moulding machines under the guidance of your trainer.
- To understand quality expectations within the facility, working towards achieving a company quality standard.

**Main Responsibilities**
- To understand and adopt the business Health and Safety culture, and the use of mechanical equipment.
- Ensure tool changes/material changes are completed as guided by your trainer or production plan.
- Play an active role in the day to day running of the setting team to gain knowledge to assist in your personal development.
- Under the guidance of the trainer, identify and take appropriate corrective action to control injection moulding defects.
- Under the guidance of the trainer carry out necessary maintenance on the injection moulding machines.
- Under the guidance of your trainer carry out maintenance on injection mould tools.
- Occasionally operate machines as determined by business needs
- Work within other departments to create a link to production and the setting team to ensure the success of the trainee program.
