**Job Title**:Production Worker

**Salary**:Starting at £14.25 per hour

**Location**:Wimborne

**The role**

As part of the part stores team, you will be responsible for the picking and kitting of materials, according to specified work orders. You will work with the full stores team including dispatch and order processing to ensure the effective flow of material into the parts network for both Caterpillar and Perkins marine product.
You will work closely with the store’s supervisor keeping an overview of the jobs for the week ensuring that workload is kept organized end effectively distributed across the team. you will be expected to encourage expected 5s practices in the part sales pacing area. Good attention to detail is essential.

**What you’ll do**
- Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions.
- Picking and kitting and all associated workflows.
- All members of the team are expected to support and provide cover where required for planned or unplanned absences.
- Data entry and retrieval from SAP, excel and various apps as required.
- Process despatch paperwork and logistics labels.
- Follow and utilise Caterpillar Production System principles of continuous improvement reporting, waste elimination and standard work
- Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM) Adhere to the company's Health and Safety policy and safe working practices
- Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork, Sustainability
- Undertake training and further learning as required

**What you will have**
- You will have a desire to make a positive contribution to the company by maintaining and improving quality standards.
- You must be able to work with minimum supervision, have a high work output and be fully conversant with the company’s document system
- Experience and current ticket for using counterbalance and or pivot steer forklift is highly preferable.
- Experience using SAP and hand scanners is advantageous.
- Will be encouraged to undertake first aid training.
