Primary School Teaching Assistant

I am working with a lovely Primary School in the London Borough of Southwark. The Primary School supports children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social Communication difficulties. The School is Ofsted rated GOOD and believes in supporting andencouraging the children to develop the life skills and independence that they will need for their futures. Each individual child is given the opportunity to enjoy and experience stimulating academic and creative learning experiences that have been adaptedto support their own needs.
- Have a good academic background with some experience/knowledge of ASC and additional Social Communication needs.
- Have experience or a good knowledge/understanding of working within a Primary School setting
- Hold a safeguarding qualification or be willing to complete a safeguarding course
ALL APPLICANTS MUST WILL REQUIRE THE APPROPRIATE QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING FOR THIS ROLE AS WELL AS THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK.
The Role:
- You will be required to work alongside and support the classroom teachers/other teaching assistants with everyday activities and lessons.
- You will be required to support children with their academic learning and their own individual needs.
- To work in small groups and adapt lessons/activities to suit the ability of the child/children that you are working with
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
