**Job Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- Lead and supervise a team of childcare practitioners, ensuring adherence to organisational policies and early years frameworks.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children aged from birth to five years.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages children's independence and curiosity.
- Support staff development through mentoring, coaching, and providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and welfare.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Contribute to the organisation’s continuous improvement initiatives by sharing best practices and innovative ideas.

**Skills**
- Proven management and leadership experience within childcare or nursery settings.
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development stages.
- Experience working directly with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, capable of liaising effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent).
- Knowledge of nursery policies, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety standards.
- Ability to motivate and inspire a team while maintaining high standards of care.
- Driving licence is desirable for facilitating organisational needs such as outings or staff meetings outside the nursery premises. This role is ideal for a committed childcare professional eager to lead a team in delivering exceptional early years education while fostering a warm environment for children’s growth and learning.
