**Role** Overview**

Touchlight is currently seeking a **H**ealth**&**S**afety** Officer** to join our **Continuous Improvement** team**. The position will be **part time** (**60% FTE**)**. This is an exciting, fast-paced environment suited to initiative-taking individuals who can **contribute to the safety of all personnel and**promote a positive**H&S** culture** in our workplace. Fire Marshal and first aid training will be provided.

**Responsibilities**Ensuring that **all**H&S** policies, procedures,**rules** and regulations are adhered to** and **are regularly reviewed,**updated** and communicated**. Making sure that **accurate**H&S** training records**and online H&S training program**are maintained**Ensuring that **all accidents/near misses are documented,**investigated** and recommended improvements implemented**. Gathering, analysing and reporting on **key H&S data/statistics (KPIs)**Assessing risk and potential hazards across the site and** completing risk assessments**Hosting**H&S** meetings** with lab representatives and reporting back to the manager
- **Liais**ing** with external**H&S**and OH**consultants** in the provision of training programmes and more general H&S services
Ensuring that **safety inspections and audits are**conducted**, **fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported**, **safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are**managed**, and employees are aware of their responsibilities

**Join**ing** safety audits and perform**ing** spot checks** to make sure the work environment is as safe as possible

**Collaborating** with key members of the technical team** to identify hazards and plan the best methods to safely and effectively progress business activities

**Managing**all** procurement requirements** in relation to H&S.
- **Skills and Experience**Bachelor's** level degree** in a relevant field** or equivalent by experience

At least **2** years** recent and relevant **H&S experience in a similar role**/**in a Biological**,**Chemi**cal or CDMO**based environment** (specific scientific training will be provided)

**NEBOSH** General Certificate and/or **IOSH** certification and an understanding of **COSHH** requirements preferred

- Excellent oral/written **communication**skills**, coupled with strong **interpersonal**and presentation** skills

- Ability to **work effectively**individually** and**as part of a** team**-
- Exceptional **o**rganis**ation** and**time**manag**ement skills** to deliver results to established timelines and be able to work in a rapidly changing environment

- Excellent **attention to** detail** and experience in **formulating,**implementing** and revising H&S policies and procedures**in** audit situations**-
- Ability to listen actively as the role will include **working alongside staff to support the**ir**H&S** and Occupational Health**needs** as and when required.
