Menzies Distribution are currently recruiting a Depot Manager to work out of our site in Orkney
**What you want to know**:
Hours of work: 40 hours per week. Day or Night available (the needs of the business may require some out of hours contact)
Days of Work: Mon - Fri with alternate weekend working as and when required
Rate of pay: Starting from £25k P/A DOE
**Site Manager Duties:**
- Coordinating the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary
- Maintain a safe working environment which complies with all aspects of the company’s H&S policy
- Ensure all environmental control measures are in place and effective
- Manage, support & develop the operational team through continuous improvement and proactive communication
- Establish & maintain a harmonised people focused team-working environment
- Uphold highest standards of H&S, ensure all inductions and regular training is completed and logged
- Establish, monitor and maintain agreed performance levels for all warehouse activity
- Liaise, support and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers
- Complete inductions with new starters
- Provide training to all staff and contractors to ensure they are able to undertake their duties effectively, efficiently and safely
- Ensure all staff have completed the necessary Health & Safety training
- Manage the depot’s P&L, including controlling costs, in partnership with the Regional Manager
- Manage the depot’s commercial activities to ensure revenue is captured
- Manage the depot’s operational activities to ensure efficiency and maintain customer service
**Site Manager requirements**:
- A minimum of 1 of years relevant working experience within a Distribution or Logistics supervisory position
- Good computer literacy (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skil
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
