**Salary**:Starting at £25,030 per annum plus £6,710 London Weighting

**Description of Department**:

The Vetting Unit is responsible for conducting Police Vetting (PV) and National Security Vetting (NSV) clearances on all police officers, police staff and contractors who work with or for CoLP.

In addition, it will be necessary to provide further administrative support to the wider Professional Standards Department in respect of discipline hearings, abnormally high workload or at the direction of the PSD Senior Leadership Team.
- Excellent IT skills that covers all aspects of the MS Office Suite of Applications
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills to be able to deal confidently and effectively with people at all levels, establishing a high degree of trust, rapport and cooperation with individuals. They will also demonstrate a high level of tact and be confident and articulate in all communications (verbal, written and face to face) to groups and individuals.
- Proven background of working as part of a small team and delivering work to a high standard.
- The ability to maintain a working knowledge of Human Rights, Equality, Data Protection, Right to Work and other related legislation and guidance.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Have current or former vetting experience.
- Currently PNC trained, or will complete PNC training.
- Currently PND trained, or will complete PND training.
- An understanding of police and security vetting and the threats to City of London Police security and integrity.
- A working knowledge of the APP Vetting (May 2021) and HM Government’s Security Policy Framework
- Required to be vetted to MV/SC level.
