Head of Data Architecture

Arriva is one of the largest transport services organisations in Europe, employing some 46,000 people and delivering more than 1.2 billion passenger journeys across 14 European countries every year. **About the role** As our Head of Data Architecture & Governance, you will lead and manage a data management team and deliver the strategic objectives of the wider CTO team, providing quality Enterprise Data Management solutions for our business customers in a challenging and diverse, multi-lingual information environment. You will be the leader within CTO and across Arriva for Data Architecture and Data Governance, working with senior business managers to understand their long term needs and to formulate actionable strategy within your domain of expertise. - You will lead your team in establishing the relevant architecture, developing the right skills both internally and externally and by providing appropriate data Governance. This role will ensure that the data our businesses rely on for decision making is available where needed, of good quality, and is secured and trusted across Arriva’s solutions. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Lead data strategy and data policy for Arriva Group - Data architecture modelling and cataloguing - Development and running of Data Governance for shared data across Arriva - Manage the Community of Practice for data across Arriva Group - Creation of Roadmap for data domains to increase overall coverage of modelled and catalogued data - Management of Data Architects and other resources as appropriate - Effort estimation and contribution towards the creation of proposals and business cases for Technology and Services and for Arriva customer groups **About you** You can demonstrate experience in a similar role, developing and delivering data strategies and roadmaps with a deep understanding of data integration. You are skilled in all aspects of data governance, including data quality management, metadata management, data architecture, data management tools and technology, trends, best practices and relevant regulation. Outside of the technical skills and experience, you are someone that builds relationships at all organisational levels, able to shape and influence outcomes. You have excellent written and spoken communication skills to engage and present complex ideas and concepts in a clear manner. You are able to manage all aspects of working with third party suppliers, including selection, relationship management, performance management and financial management.
