Job Description: (Specialist) Support Worker - Enhanced Role
Job Purpose: To support the clinical team in meeting the complex needs of our service users, delivering a professional and highly specialized service. This enhanced role includes the responsibility for preparing and managing a detailed, rolling schedule of activities, daily needs, and tracking engagements for each service user.
Key Tasks:
- Assist the clinical team in the provision of therapeutic input for service-users as directed by the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), including the registered manager, occupational therapist, clinical psychologist, and speech and language therapist.
- Share information effectively, communicating clearly and professionally with service-users, MDT professionals, family members, and external professionals.
- Complete accurate and comprehensive records timely, attend meetings, and assist in the documentation process for MDT professionals.
- Under professional guidance, produce tailored resources for service-users (e.g., easy-read documents, communication resources).
- Undertake tasks of behavioural analysis, update clinical documentation, and complete clinical notes under the guidance of professionals.
- Prepare and manage a detailed, rolling schedule planning activities and daily needs for service users, covering a minimum of 3 months up to a maximum of 6 months. This includes tracking engagements and outcomes to ensure continuous support and development.
- Support in the research, planning, and provision of individual and group activities appropriate for service-users.
- Assist MDT professionals in the delivery of staff training.
Work Schedule:
- This position involves working on shifts, including day and night shifts, and may require weekend work.
- The role is designed to be flexible to meet the dynamic needs of our service users and ensure round-the-clock support.
Person Specification:
- Driver preferred.
- Degree preferred.
- Experience with individuals having learning disabilities, autism, and mental health diagnoses preferred.
- Team player with initiative, creativity, energy, enthusiasm, and motivation.
- Effective communicator, flexible, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to maintain professionalism in stressful situations and adhere to work and professional standards.
- Respectful of confidentiality and personal and professional integrity.
- Good IT skills and open to learning new programs.
- Willing to undertake necessary training or qualifications as required by the organization.
