**Domestic Abuse Caseworker**

A prestigious Support provider in **Taunton** requires a **Casework Coordinator **to join their team on a **permanent **basis. The post holder will provide holistic practical and emotional support for survivors of domestic abuse with a range of complex social and housing needs.

**Hours**:37.5 per week (On call 1 in 4 weeks)
**Salary**:£22,440 - £23,812

**Day to day responsibilities include**:
- Provide practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse in accordance with policies and procedures
- Conduct key work sessions on a regular basis and keep casework records up to date
- Welcome new residents, explaining and arranging for them to sign occupancy agreements, ensuring that they are aware of their options for moving on to more permanent accommodation
- Ensure that rooms becoming vacant are re-let as soon as possible, taking all appropriate steps to enable new referrals into the service
- Develop individual support and risk management plans which address the risk of harm to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse and their children
- Keep up to date with relevant safeguarding policies and procedures and ensure that any issues are raised in a timely manner
- Assist clients with accessing appropriate welfare and/or housing benefits
- Ensure that survivors are aware of their rights to legal protection for themselves and their children, arranging for the provision of legal advice as required and accompany women to appointments if appropriate
- Work in partnership with other agencies to ensure an effective, coordinated community response to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse and their children
**Essential criteria include**:
- Relevant experience working as part of a team in a housing, social or health care setting
- Driving licence with access to own car
- Current Enhanced DBS
