**Salary**: Up to £27,100 per annum pro rata, depending on skills and experience.

Are you a contingency planner looking for a part time role or do you work in an emergency planning team? We have an opportunity for you within our Emergency planning department.

As a contingency planner you will create operational contingency plans for the continuous improvement at Southern Water for employees and customers alike. You will provide a planning service to several managers, keep incident logs, maintain, or implement business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and solutions. This will include risk assessments, business impact analyses, strategy selection, and documentation of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures. You will ensure that all continuity plans conform to the governance process and that reviews are delivered on time and to appropriate standards, promoting good practise in terms of incident planning and prevention.

As the Contingency Planner you will debrief incidents when appropriate, assist with the planning of regular mock-disaster exercises to test the adequacy of existing plans and strategies, resulting in procedures and plans being updated regularly.

With your attention to detail and excellent organisational skills you will plan for eventualities by building rapport with key stakeholders and utilising your strong communication abilities to interact with field and site teams to collate operational prevention plans.

There will be training provided however your experience as contingency planning would be beneficial. Your background in planning for Emergency services, water utilities, railway or the NHS would make you a strong contender for this role.
